Introduction: A Day in the Life of a Princess
Hello Everyone!
My name is Monica Ricketts and I am a 23 year-old girl who has many aspirations, dreams and passion towards the arts and Disney. I have recently become interested in writing again and I hope to be able to share my journey of pursuing my career with you all! Two and half years ago, I decided to make the move to Los Angeles, California and in those two years I have discovered many wonderful adventures along the way.This past year alone has been extremely fruitful, in mainly the theatrical realm, which has brought me great joy.Being onstage is where I am most happy, and fulfilled, and to be able to share my love for theater with an audience is such a blessing. Along with theater, I am also a princess party performer, where I dress up as characters for children's birthday parties. It has been my main source of income since I moved to L.A. and it is incredibly rewarding. Because of this job, I have gained many new friends and like-minded people in my life who love children and what the Walt Disney Company stands for. It has been an amazing way to get connected with fellow princesses all over the world through social media, which has remained a wonderful tool to gain a support system when the pressure of Los Angeles can get alittle tiring. Another theme of this blog is going to focused on the societal expectations that actors and performers undergo and how to have a positive mind-set and view of oneself. I believe that there is beauty in even the most unexpected places, and I want to be able to remind girls and boys that they are worthy of confidence and appreciation. Each week I will be focusing on a specific subject concerning either performing, makeup or positive body image, so stay tuned! I am striving to make this blog a safe place for people to discuss similar interests, concerns and passions, and I hope that I may be able to offer some insight on the subjects.
I'm truly looking forward to sharing with you my magical, crazy, and beautifully chaotic life!
